A Groovy Kind of Murder- Karen Vuranch
What the world needs now is ….love, so join us for a reunion of the singing group, The Love Beads. Twenty years ago these talented singers were all classmates at Loveland University, fondly referred to as Love U, and formed The Love Beads to protest the starving children in Malakai. They had planned to do a farewell concert before graduating, but it was cancelled after a disastrous Love-In and Peace March. After all these years, they are getting back together for a Farewell Concert. Some of the singers want the group to continue their career. But, one of them has ulterior motives for getting the group back together and she will stop at nothing short of murder. Clues are given and the audience will have the chance to interrogate suspects and solve the dastardly deed. Can The Love Beads overcome and spread sunshine and put a little love in our hearts? Join us at Hawks Nest State Park to solve the mystery. $

The Legacy of Mary Ingles
The Mary Ingles Trail Associates will present a historical drama based on research of the life of Mary Draper Ingles. Embroiled in the turmoil of the French & Indian War, Mary was captured by the Shawnee Indians in July of 1755 and after several months, she escaped and made her way back home by walking over 500 miles. That journey took her through the Kanawha Valley of West Virginia. Come join us for an educational living history lesson of early western Virginia (with emphasis on the Kanawha Valley region) from the 1750’s – 1800’s. During this drama, participants will be able to visit with Mary Draper Ingles and hear some of her story; learn about some of the challenges faced by Rebecca Boone, wife of the famous Daniel Boone; as well as glimpse into the lives of many other historical figures of the past. Also during the drama you will hear about the lives of the Cherokee, Shawnee, and other Eastern Woodland Indians in our area, and become acquainted with how settlers of this land felt about its vastness and dangers.

Opened Mail- Karen Vuranch & Gene Worthington
To whom it may concern: you are going to enjoy the new comedy play from Karen Vuranch and Gene Worthington! A husband and wife team from Fayetteville, WV, these two talented actors will perform the play Opened Mail. This Reader's Theatre style play consists of a series of different, comic stories. Each scene is its own story and each is told through letters between two people. From a futuristic astronaut and his wife, to two nuns in the convent who are not on speaking terms, to an irreverent look at George Washington, the play is a comical look at the art of communication. $ |

Timothy Seaman
Acoustic soloist Timothy Seaman brings together an eclectic blend of music styles unlike any other: sometimes the deep voice of his four-octave extended-range hammered dulcimer takes on the heart of a Chopin ballade, and at other times the festivity of an old-time mountain dance or a glistening contemporary interpretation of a whitewater canoe ride or a highland hike among fir trees. A specialist in Virginia themes, parks, nature, Celtic roots and folk hymns, Timothy has produced or co-produced fifteen recordings. Expect to be exhilarated, amused, awed, surprised, personally involved (maybe singing a chorus or playing along on Irish bodhran or Thai frog), and enriched by real substance. Come and find traditional, newly composed, and Baroque music that reviewers have referred to as “soul-to-soul” and “highly lyrical.”

Elvis Tribute Artist- Franky Dee
Over the past fifteen years Franky has performed in many states, for various occasions, and has a vast amount of “Franky Fans.” During that time Franky has won numerous talent contests. Franky performed for several years in the country music arena, sometimes performing a few of Elvis’ songs. Franky’s love for Elvis’ music began as an experiment at first, but FANS LOVED IT!! His moves and voice are a “chilling” resemblance to the King - he kisses the ladies, and shakes like nobody’s business!! Franky Dee is a true Elvis fan and impersonator. $
